Excellent monitor with some caveats so read before you buy
I was lucky to get this monitor on sale for Black Friday and it was a purchase I do not regret. The screen is magnificent and almost borderless. What do I mean by that? The majority of monitors have a plastic border going around the display that you can grab onto. This monitor surprised me in that the border is about 3 mm in width. You have to move it by palming it on the sides, and not using your fingers on the front because you will end up touching the screen and getting an oily fingerprint on it. I love it because what you see is screen! Moving along, the display is magnificent and rich in colors with no noticeable lag whatsoever which is very important when playing games. I am not a display-phile and as such, I won't be getting into detail about technical specs. I think that is overkill because no one is going to focus on the number of nits or true black spaces on the left quadrant of the screen. From a gamers viewpoint, this display will not disappoint. Here are some caveats:
1) As stated in the description, this display has no VESA fittings on its back so you cannot hook it up to a wall stand like a flat screen TV or a swivel desk monitor holder. You must use the stand. Many people may not have read that part which is why I am stating it here.
2) The monitor can ONLY be swiveled up and down in angles. That's it. You cannot raise or lower the monitor and this means that if you put it flat on your desk, you will either have to swivel tilt it upwards or rest the monitor on some books or a stand to keep it eye level. I did the latter otherwise, I would find myself looking in a downward position which is not good ergonomically.
That may be a deal breaker for some, but for the price I paid, I got a gem of a monitor plus, I got to use my saw and drill which I haven't used in ages, to make a short stand for my monitor. I would suggest that if you don't want to do what I did, to look at other HP monitors that have VESA mounts or have a stand which you can raise or lower.

No surprises. That's a good thing.
The M22f is replacement of a 6 year old HP 22vc that had developed a thin vertical line from top to bottom. With nearly identical specifications and sizing, the new monitor fits my needs well as an external display for my MacBook Air. With July 4th sale pricing and a coupon code, the purchase was well worth it. Even though it was free, the shipping method chosen by HP was less satisfactory. FedEx SmartPost, aka Ground Economy, took 17 days from the date of order to my receiving the monitor. FedEx describes it as "It’s ideal for outbound residential deliveries and returns that are low-weight, low-value, and non-urgent." Retailing for close to $150, I take exception at the low-value given the monitor when it comes to shipping it. If it weren't for the great price and free shipping, I'd have purchased the same monitor at local retailer.

Is the monitor adjustable on the stand and what is the total height of both the monitor and stand combined. I ask this because we will need to adjust the design of our desk. It is a wood desk and we will need to change the height of a shelf.
The display can be tilted but is not height adjustable. From the desk surface to the top of the display is roughly 14.75"

The HP ProBook 440 14-inch G9 Notebook PC typically has an HDMI port and a USB-C port with DisplayPort and PowerDelivery or a Thunderbolt Port. With these two ports that laptop will support two external displays. A USB-C/Thunderbolt to HDMI cable will be needed for the second display.
