HP 63XL Black
I bought this printer back in June and when it said I need to replace the ink it did not say which one. So I took a chance and only replaced the black ink and so far everything seems to be ok. My other HP printer would tell me which ink needed to be replaced. I do like my HP products. Got an error message tonight but that didn't tell me anything so had to shut it down. Hope it works when I try to print again.

Please fix your website for re-ordering ink
This poor review is not about the product, it's about the HP website interface. I have HP Smart set up on my computer and it is very good at letting me know when my ink is depleted. However, when I visited the HP website to order new ink cartridges, it was not clear which ink was compatible with my Officeject Pro 8600 and the search function was not working properly. If HP Smart were, in fact, "smart" I would expect to be directed to replacement cartridges that are actually compatible with my printer, since it knows what printer I have along with the exact amount of ink left in the cartridges. In frustration and pure laziness on my part, I ordered the 63XL which was the fist thing that popped up. When the 63XL arrived, it was clearly incompatible with my printer, so I went to Office Depot to buy the right cartridges.

High cost/
The quality of the color is great but they never last as long as claimed. I don't print whole pages in color, they are typically small line graphs w/ color coded legends. These are expensive catridges so given its short life, it's value is lower than i would expect. Cheaper versions on the website work but if HP knows how to detect copy-cats it then uses software to block its use.

Wrong printer cartridge
I'm sure the ink is fine, but the catridge was not compatible with my printer. Since HP direct initiates the need to order ink. I made the assumption that it also knew what cartridge my printer requires, not the case. And no refund because I opened the packaging so I'm out $90+ dollars

I count on HP cartridges
When I need ink cartridges I go straight to HP because I never had any problems with that brand. I have had a few problems with refurbished ones and won't go that route anymore. They may be cheaper, but it's not worth it if your printer does not accept them or if they last less than expected.

It took some work but Fit!
It took a lot of work to get it to fit in the printer, but it finally did and works now. I bought the ink out of frustration with the HP subscription ink program, and really hoped this size would fit. Luckily, it finally did.

I have an HP Officejet 3830 All-In-One printer, out of warranty and discontinued. I have HP63XL ink cartridges. If my printer fails, what comparable replacement printer will accept the 63s?
They have discontinued ALLL printers that use 63 inks. Which we have found out the hard way having to find replacement printer for our 3830 printers. We get a notice that it will no longer receive update or be serviced. We are pretty angry right now.

I bought an HP63 color cartridge a bit ago and it appears to have malfunctioned and no longer prints color. I checked that it was properly seated, no apparent damage. What is the warranty period, if any? No receipt or date of purchase.
