So I bought all four colors (C, M, Y, and B - this one). I bought these directly from HP and installed them in the printer. The printer continued to say that the cartridges were not compatible. I used HPs troubleshooting tools and recommendations. I tried - as recommended - to install new firmware in the printer. Although I could download the firmware & driver updates from HP, the firmware would not install on the printer. I finally gave up, took the HP printer to electronics recycling, and bought another brand of printer.

Costco had a 3 pack for $93.00 of the 3 colors I ordered : cayman, magenta and yellow. Also NY state tax would have been less. All in all I would have saved about $13.00. Aside from saving money, I am satisfied with the product and service

I ended paying almost $120 for the whole set of 3 colors, but I thought it was worth the investment because the last set I bought lasted for 3 full years of intensive home printing, perfect quality all the time, really happy with them. However, a few days later I realized that I could have bought a new Instant Ink compatible printer, and enroll in the FREE subscription, for less than $100 bucks. I felt stupid... I think HP shouldn't promote throwing away usable old printers, and getting new ones because it's just cheaper. That's not green... and that's not taking care of loyal customers.

why are your 950XL and 951XL ink cartridges so expensive? .....Do I have to switch to a different printer company other then HP to get a reasonable price for printer ink.
