It does what it was meant to do, and then some, very impressed and excited for the way it prints to the way it scans, and you can load the feed tray while scanning, and it scans page after page without having to micro manage . i am thoroughly pleased

This printer is not as good as the previous HP MFP
This printer has ineffective and defective software. It does not produce the same quality printing as its predecessor. The connectivity issues are abundant. It won't allow you to print directly unless you actually use a different printer interface from a different non HP application.

Great Printer - Very Fast - Driver Issues
I bought this printer as a replacement for an older MFP model that suddenly developed scanning issues. This new one is amazing fast, and print quality is awesome. It's so good that I am considering replacing another printer with this model. That said, there is one thing that is holding me back. The MacOS driver just simply doesn't work. I've tried the essential install, the full install, and manual install. It's not happy. The odd part is that during the driver install process it says that Bonjour isn't enabled, but when I attempt a manual install the printer shows up in the list with the "(Bonjour)" label. So MacOS thinks Bonjour is working fine, but the driver installer doesn't.

Won't print from some apps
Quality and reliability are great however, for some reason, it will not print from the Printshop app. This was the main reason I bought the printer. Can't return it now because, I have thrown the box away.

Save yourself the Headache!
When printing multiple copies, sheets of paper do not drop into catch tray resulting in paper jam error. Can not change settings without calling HP and getting them to unlock the printer. After about 2 hours of installation it stopped printing anything from the computer. Copies only. After using 1 day it got sent back to HP.

Easy Setup
So far, so good. Best part was that there was no “setup”. We easily found the printer on our computers using our WiFi. No downloading of drivers etc. Takes the pain out of setup.

Single Printing Restriction
The printer works well; however, the one item that was expected is not possible. In talking with an HP sales rep, I verified that the printer was both wireless and hardwired Ethernet connections which was not listed in a comparison with other HP Laserjet Color printers.
When installing the printer, I discussed that only wireless or wired communication is possible with the printer. The printer only allows a single communication protocol with the printer.
This defeats the purpose of dual connections. If the wired connection is installed NO wireless device can communicate.
My previous MFM 477dfw did allow dual printing.

New look of HP printers is very good. Color output is very good. Scanning setup is a challenge.

Trying to scan to a USB drive. The directions state to enter the PIN on the toner door. There is the part number and serial number but no PIN number. One of the main selling points of this was the ability to scan to a USB drive. . .

I thought laser printers used toner. This one says it uses ink cartridges like my inkjet printer. Why?

Hello. Thanks for your question. You can do double-sided copying through the ADF (Auto Document Feeder) on top of this HP Laserjet Pro 4301fdw printer. You need to use some software to scan with this printer. We recommend using the HP Smart app. You can scan to a USB flash drive on the printer.
