The most troubling aspect is that there is a known software issue where the printer goes offline and cannot be woken up. This only happens when using the wireless connection option. The only support is a user forum or software download. I expected better.

It doesn’t print the ink consistently on the page, is much slower than advertised, and the HP software is not effective. There is no way to scan directly from the device so if you are sharing this printer you will have to go to the device to put your paper on the glass, go back to your computer to hit scan, then go back to the device to retrieve your paper. If you are scanning multiple pages you have to do this each time. It’s honestly the worst printer I have ever had. The software made me switch brands completely and I was a loyal HP girl for many years. Go get an Epson or a Brother. You’ll have more flexibility and better print quality.

The sheets are crisp and the colors are bright. The black and white do come out with a greenish tint if the original was saved as a color image. Converting the image to a greyscale solved that.

The copier and scan functions are easy to use, but the WiFi set up was not as straight forward as it should have been, requiring a call to HP support and I’m fairly tech savvy. I read all the reviews I could find on it and based on the fact that I already had an hp laptop that has been trouble free I bought it. Setup was a breeze. Follow the instructions people. I'm in my 70's and not real techie. I went step by step just like hp said and in less then 10 minutes from opening the box I was in operation. Sharp crisp print, and I can print from my phone up on the second floor without a hitch.

    We would only use this printer about 10 to 20 sheets a month, will there be any issues with the printer or toners with low usage, e.g. not printing properly or toners getting clogged up.

    Thank you for your question. You should run into no issues with clogging or drying as this is a laser printer that uses toner, which is a powder, not a liquid-like ink.
