Very happy with this printer so far
One of my must have features was to be able to print legal size documents. I have had trouble finding that but came across this printer on sale. I didn't need the sheet feeder but it may come in handy and the price was right. The printer was so easy to get out of the box (a handy strap let me lift it easily out easily. . thank you!) and very easy to set up wirelessly. Very quiet and prints well.

HP Envy 7955 impressions
Still getting used to this printer. B&W printing seems to be okay. Color printing less than expected, may sort out. Previous printer was HP C4480 Photosmart - unfortunately, HP has made it difficult to get replacement cartridges. Envy Inspire 7955 was similar to printer at local Office Max store with top document feeder & scanning bed. Thought this would be an upgrade from C4480. For Envy 7955, not overly impressed with copy receiving tray or paper fill tray apparatus. We keep printer off when not in use; when powered up - there is a lot of carriage movement to get ready to print. It seems excessive when compared to previous printer. Preferred C4480, but if you can't get ink readily - we were forced to move on. Compared various HP models online, and made best guess for better or worse.

Printer replacement for HP Envy 7640
Nice printe. r to replace my old HP Envy 7640 which no longer works. However, unlike my old printer, when the pages are being ejected from printer there is no component that catches the pages. I think that this is a very important element which should have been included in the design

Great printer!!! This was a much better fit than the 8033e which I first ordered and has the same features as the 7955e, but uses 3 separate cartridges which I don’t prefer and was not explained to me when ordering. But all is well. HP support is terrific.

Error messages on maiden voyage!
From the get-go, I'm getting error messages to clear paper path. I followed instructions repeatedly to no avail. Haven't printed one page yet and I've had the machine for weeks. Apparently not very user friendly.

Not as good as it's predecessor.
While this printer is cheaper and adequate for our pricing needs, it is harder to use, less well made, poorly supported by written instruction, and generally less satisfying to handle. I could be more specific, but I'll leave it at that.

The colored printing
The colored printing isn’t all that. It is printed in pink. However, with the price is, I guess that what you get. The black and white is beautiful. If I knew this was the result, I would have opted for a black-and-white printer for a cheaper price.

I will not recommend this printer to anyone in my extended family. The HP Techs are very friendly and helpful, but the printer itself has more than one frustrating issue that, as an owner, make me regret ever purchasing the 7955e.

Excellent printer.But, setting it up to work was not easy. Had to call HP assistant for help. Could not set up without a QR scan with my phone or computer because my phone and computer does not have the compatibility.

Great Copies, But........
This is a really nice printer. It is my 2nd HP Copier for my home. I had the first one for 8 years, which, I think, is good for a home printer in this price range. The Inspire is quiet and prints a clear copy. It is ust the right size for the area I need to keep it on.
My only complaint is that I cannot scan to my laptop. Documents have to be scanned through the hp mobile app, which is somewhat inconvenient. Thus, the 4 star rating, rather than 5

Not a good product
I'm very disappointed in the ENVY group of printers. I purchased the 7800 series in March of 2022 and had to have two service calls to get it to working properly. One in Aug of 2022 and then again in March of 2023. I was then told in March of this year that it was an "old" series. I had a third service call in June of 2023 and was again told the 7800 was an old series. So, I reluctantly purchased this series. NO difference. It would not connect with my laptop or stay connected online so that I could utilize the scan/fax options. I have other printers in the home without this issue of connectivity. I've asked for my money back and will not consider this brand again. I have a small business to run and really need a reliable printer/fax/scanner.

How is this printer at scanning photos? I had an HP Photosmart quite awhile ago and it was great at scanning photos...very clear.
I bought this printer for the purpose of scanning photos. They come out looking blurry. You would expect an expensive printer like this to make things very clear but the fact is my dad has an HP OfficeJet printer that came out many years ago and the pictures look clearer than this HP Envy printer. I even called HP technical support and they couldn't fix it because this is just this printer is. It's pathetic actually. I highly recommend not to buy it unless you don't mind blurry looking pictures.

How do I get 3 months free ink with a 2 year warranty?
During the setup using the HP Smart app, you get a request to join HP+ which is complete free as well. If you accept that offer you get the 2-year warranty and then it gives you an offer for the free months of Instant Ink and you just continue to that section to claim the free months. I got the printer yesterday and while printing photos on hp glossy paper (which came with the printer) - the ink is all over the place. I called for tech line and we tried everything its still the same. Very disappointed by the purchase.

Hello. Thanks for your question. You can use the HP Smart app to scan to email. You would use the scan option on the HP Smart app to share via email.
To make it easier the next time, we recommend using Shortcuts. It allows you to make a Shortcut, i.e. a scanned item to be emailed to this email address.
