My new printer, HP ENVY Inspire 7900e.
Well, I got the printer to work, after spending several hours on getting it ready, so then I was able to print, and copy. Though when I later tried scanning, it did not work, I had to call HP to fix the problem. Well, it was not really a problem with the printer. So HP spent over one hour dealing with the problem, and finally the printer was able to scan. So now it seems to work perfectly. One thing that delayed me in getting the printer to work was inserting the ink cartridges. It took me a long time, until I got the bright idea of reversing the ink cartridges, where the black ink cartridge went and where the color ink cartridge went, then I was finally successful. The problem that the places to insert the ink cartridges look basically the same on this printer, so I was trying to insert the ink cartridges in the wrong places. My previous printer, which was no longer working, and could not be repaired, as it was obsolete, had the places to insert the ink cartridges marked very well, with a purple cover for the color cartridge and black cover for the black cartridge, so there I knew immediately where each ink cartridge needs to go. So in that respect, the new printer, HP ENVY Inspire, is worse, so that led me to try to insert the ink cartridges in the wrong places, which delayed me considerably. My previous printer was HP ENVY 4520, which was much better in this respect, it was obvious where each ink cartridge needs to go. Well, It broke down, and could not be repaired, so I had to buy the new printer. And the new printer is now working perfectly. But it took me time to get it to work.

Disappointing photo quality
Photo quality is disappointing. Not as sharp as the HP Office Jet Pro 6968.

Printer problems
I just received my printer on June 16th. Then I had to go out of town for a week. My printer was printing small black dashes. I have cleaned the print heads and checked everything I could find. Still printing black dashes.

Highly recommend
I have printed out pictures, made copies and printed documents. It has worked great. The document feeder is a nice upgrade from my old HP printer. I am satisfied with the print quality and the printing options. Set up was easy.

ENVY will be an envy
I found this ENVY online at the HP website. It sounded like what I needed, and it is. Also, HP has a great system to guide you through setup via my iPhone! Simple! And the photos are beautiful.

Paper Tray Nightmare:jams, slip n slide paper
When the paper tray is poorly, cheaply made, BEYOND CHEAP from the cheap design you were using five or ten years ago, then It's time to locate a new manufacturer. Paper is town in the rear from those curved backstops. tray refuses to remain on 8.5x11 but slips constantly over to 8.5 x 14", or you have to take the tray out and monkey with it from the bottom to make it go into the 11" setting, but it does not remain. and suddenly, you have a PAPER JAM. But it isn't one piece, it's a build up of maybe 30 before a JAM notice. Waste my time is my biggest gripe. Used to be a real HP fan, not now. I looked at a bunch of trays at Staples, Walmart, and all the new units are the same trashy design. I'm not going to sugar coat this at all. You are at an all time low with this new tray design. Good Luck but you will not see another dollar from me. I'm switching to Brother or Canon for now.

Decent printer for the price
I needed a printer that uses dye-based ink and it does a good job. I'm not happy with the flimsiness and design of the paper tray, but I won't be using it all that often, so I can live with it.

A solid HP Printer
This is a solid HP printer which is easy to set up and connect to from your phone or computer. The printing is smooth and the ink program is great so that you never unexpectedly run out of ink when you really need it.
This printer is a decent size and would be good for a home office with a decicated space although it is slightly large for my small condo.
All in a good printer, I've no issues in the months that I've had it.
I received a special deal on this product for providing my feedback.

Beautiful, Fast and Quiet Printer
After 1 week using this new Printer, we are pleased with its features with one exception. The Fax capability being only internet and being charged is unacceptable. I have kept my old printer to continue faxing with it! I am most unhappy with this change.

Free ink scam
Not bad printer, hopwevethis free ink is a total scam. How do I get all ink I am entitled to? I have no intention of making a monthly payment to you for more than the ink costs me.

My HP Printer Inspires Envy
This a good, solid journeyman printer - not the fastest neither the cheapest nor the most costly but completely efficient, quiet and adequate for most at-home users - especially Seniors whether in High School, College or entering old age. (I’m in the old-age category.) This s a good investment of your money for a quality product that will meet virtually all your needs.

A suitable replacement
This HP ENVY Inspire 7955e replaced a decade-old competitor's all-in-one printer. It was perfectly functional and met most of my needs, except that it didn't offer duplex printing. Wanting (but not really needing) that feature, I made this purchase. After using this printer for a few months, I think I’ve come to understand the good and bad about this printer.
The good:
1. Duplex printing: No more turning and rotating pages to print on both sides and praying you got it right. I’m glad to finally have this feature in my home office.
2. Instant Ink: For the amount of printing I do, the Instant Ink program seems to be an excellent deal. No stocking up on expensive ink cartridges and I can easily recycle spent cartridges. There’s a dark side to the program though. You must agree to only use HP-branded cartridges forever—even if you cancel your Instant Ink plan. Second, while HP says they don’t monitor the contents of what you print, they are collecting data on what you print. The struggle between wanting convenience and wanting to protect my privacy is a concern.
3. Remote printing: I like that I can print from the app on my phone and work computer from anywhere I can access the internet. However, I can’t be confident the print actually occurred until I get home.
The bad:
1. Astonishingly slow printing: 15 B&W pages per minute seems unacceptable at this price point. When color or duplex printing, this rate slows dramatically. I tried to print off a few copies of a report while getting ready for work and I had to cancel the job because it was so slow.
2. Fragility: Much of the device seems sturdy, but a few key pieces seem fragile and regularly fall off or apart. The output tray falls off. Reattaching it is uncertain because it's so flimsy. I’m confident this will break in the near future, which means printouts will pile into a mess.
3. Apps: The Android app logs out almost every time I try to use it. Signing in uses annoying email-based two-factor authentication. Logout settings can’t be updated in the app and the authentication is unnecessary for printing! The interface is kludgy on both the Android and PC apps. So many unnecessary or unintuitive steps.
I’d be concerned about this printer if there was one more negative characteristic. For now, I’m keeping my eyes (and an open mind) on this printer.
I received a special deal on this product in exchange for providing feedback. This in no way affected by review, as you can see I didn't pull any punches.

No upgrade to my 5740.
Was looking to upgrade my Office Jet 5740. No upgrade, in fact it has fewer features than my old printer and prints slower.
