I have a working hp laserjet 1018 and last time I got toner for it was like in 2010. I got a new printer because MacBook Air doesn’t have driver for it. So this is essentially useless.

You are not supposed to have to do anything. If you go to this link https://instantink.hpconnected.com/us/en/l/v2 you can sign in, make sure everything shows the correct information. Also, it has the number for the Instant Ink support team. You can call them to make sure everything is accurate in the system.

It says to keep your printer online? Do you have to keep the printer turned on all the time when using the e ink program to keep on line, or does  it read your needs when you use it?

Hello, Nina. Thanks for your question. With HP Instant Ink, you do need to keep your printer connected to the WiFi. That way HP can tell when you need ink and send it to you. If your printer loses a WiFi connection or you have turned off the printer, HP will send you an email reminding you to reconnect the printer to the WiFi. You would select Enroll/Replace printer. If you are adding a new eligible HP Instant Ink printer, you will need to register the new eligible HP printer. Each HP printer has its own plan.
