No scan to computer
What this device does, it does well. The printer works nicely: fast, accurate, and quietly. For whatever reason, it is impossible to set up scan to computer. After spending hours working on it myself, I finally threw in the towel and hired an IT pro to try to set up the scanner. Neither of us was ever able to get the computer and the copier/scanner to work with the computer to scan directly to the computer. Whatever the reason, the engineers at HP Really need to spend some time on this issue.

So-so low end all-in-one
Lost the paper tray on my Envy 5530 during a move and had to get a replacement. This machine suffers by comparison in every respect. Slower, harder to set up, lower quality scanning, and no paper cassette tray! Am thinking about a return, but don’t do enough printing and scanning to justify $40 more for the next level machine. Very disappointed.

Ordered online said it would be here in 2 weeks and it was here in two days! Kinda upset me because I paid an extra $30 for fast shipping, well it came in two days. that's ridiculous It could have came fast anyway, within a week persay! Other than that its a great printer well worth the money, fast printing and super easy to set up! A great purchase! Would not hesitate tell tell friends to buy one!

I like it after getting set up but that was a nightmare. My computer couldn't find the printer wireless and after about 2 hours with techs trying everything I finally plugged it in to the modem and we could get it working.

Great but Issues
First I am not able to install my printer on my desktop, I put in the 123XXXXX than on my desktop it says take me to the App? But I cannot download the app on a desktop. Than the ink goes really fast, like I printed out 100 pages and depleted the whole cartage. Than once I was able to connect it, it shows Printer Offline and I'm unable to troubleshoot with anyone at HP help desk. I can only print from my cell phone.

Over the years only have had H.P products. My printer at least ten years olld and am still ordering 02 ink until it is discontinued. In the meantime have ordered a new printer/fax. Have been very successful with all my HP products, love them. Also dealing with H.P delivery is prompt and efficient.

Does this printer print 2-sided?
Hello. Thanks for your question. The HP OfficeJet 3830 All-in-One Printer does not support automatic two-sided (duplex) printing. However, it does allow for manual duplex printing, where you can print on one side, then reload the paper to print on the other side.
