Great Experience buying new printer
My printer broke and I called HP for help. Representative was very helpful and knowledgeable and walked me through trying to fix my old printer. The printer could not be fixed, so I decided to buy a new ink jet printer which came to my doorstep in a couple of days. It was only $100 and came with six months free Ink!!! I called and another representative help me set it up successfully. It has been awesome.

The process to get the printer was very difficult. I could not figure out how to make it work. I have had many HP printers in past years and it was "plug it in, connect to computer" and go to work. I got in touch with a HP help tech person and she suggested I get $500.00 Norton system to get it to work.
I ended up with another tech and he was very good and got it to work after about two hours. I realize my computer is getting old but this was ridiculous.

CAN YOU USE OTHER BRANDS OF CARTRIDGES?
Thank you for your interest in the OfficeJet 8015e. If you were to opt-in for HP+, which is completely free, during the setup, you would not be able to use third-party branded cartridges. If you do not opt-in for HP+, you can use third-party cartridges. HP does not recommend it and it will void the warranty. Third-party cartridges tend not to use the same type of ink which can cause issues for the printer. If you are looking for options to save money on ink, if you opt-in for HP+ it does give you free months of Instant Ink and Instant Ink is based on the number of pages you print per month, not the amount of ink you use.

This unit for envelopes is designed to handle #10, Monarch, 5.5 bar and media weights from 20 to 24lb when it comes to envelopes. You would have to set it as a custom size to print on 6-3/4 and make sure that the envelope type falls within the media weight range. It will work in that case, not just as a preset option.

Is it possible to turn off the colored ink so that only black is used regardless of the settings of those who are printing. We are using this for a business and our customers are using air print, so trying to cut down on costs.

The HP OfficeJet 8015e does not have a built-in fax or double-sided scanning. If those features are needed the HP OfficeJet Pro 9015e is recommended.

Where is the input tray?

The standard paper tray is on the front near the bottom below the output tray. The user guide https://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c07040095.pdf shows how to load it starting on page 11. If you are referring to pages a multi-page scan/copy input, the ADF is on top.
