Rated 1 out of 5 by Cartoonkid from Did not work for my needs Despite the description of this item being "Pavilion USB-C to HDMI 2.0 Adapter," this did not work with my brand new Pavilion laptop. The problem isn't so much with the adapter as it is with the laptop itself. Unfortunately, HP went cheap when they designed the USB-C port on the laptop, as it does not support video. (Of course, nowhere in the description did it say that. I had to dig in to the datasheet to find the info.) What is even more troubling and frustrating is that I spoke to an HP support rep at length, describing my needs. My laptop has an HDMI port and a USB-C port, and I told him that I wanted an adapter to use the USB-C port for video. He immediately recommended this product, even after I pointed out that the USB-C port on the laptop doesn't support video. So, stupid me, I believed him and bought it. But as I suspected, it didn't work. I contacted HP support and they tried to get me to buy another identical product (which the other rep told me would NOT work with my laptop.) I told them I was done rolling the dice on something that may or may not work and asked for a refund. The only good thing that came out of this transaction was that they refunded me and said I didn't need to return the adapter. So now I'm going to sell it on eBay and recoup some of the money that I spent on an adapter that DID work. If anybody reading this has a Pavilion model # 15-cs3065cl (I bought mine at Costco) and wants to use a dual external monitor setup, go to Amazon and buy a StarTech USB32HDPRO. It has a video card built into the adapter that allows you to use a USB 3 port for a monitor.

Is this an easy set up for a 2nd monitor? My HDMI port on my pro book stopped connecting to HDMI monitor port that works with fine another laptop.

The USB-C port on the laptop must support display. Not all USB-C ports and enable with this capability. However, if your USB-C port does have DisplayPort this is a plug-and-play device. Thanks for your question!

Need to add external monitor to HP Pavilion All-in-Once Desktop. Computer will not recognize external monitor. Tried different USB & HDMI ports, cables, docking stations, and adaptors. Geek Squad has been onsite and no luck. Help!
