I don't blame HP, but I wish they would not use shipper that starts withan "F" and ends with an "X". I also blame myself, as at this price you will not get a robust, work place ready monitor. This might work for light home use.

Is it backlit? Is the keyboard normal? The last one I got was not either and years later I am still stumbling in my typing! As a writer that is very difficult.

what is the illuminated '1' for at top right of keyboard

There is an on/off switch for the mouse, but not for the wireless keyboard. How do you turn off the keyboard (short of removing the battery)/

The wireless keyboard features an auto-shutoff. The shutoff will activate after a period of inactivity to maximize battery life.
