Unique Way to Use Ink
I was surprised with the way that this printer took ink. I just need to use the squeeze bottle to insert it into the ink and only use the cartridges once which will save me the hassle of having to determine which way to put them in each time! I will see if this will save me ink in the long run, but time will tell!
I love how large of a printer it is. The outside of the printer seems like a cheap plastic, but it was lightweight making it easy for me to setup.
It seems to print high quality documents that have a clear picture. I also really like that I am able to print double sided pages.

Quick and easy setup
The Smart Tank 6001 had an effortless setup. Using the printed directions to start and finishing by using my phone and the HP app made setting it up stress free. I was able easily place it on my Wi-Fi network using my phone. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the print heads install separately which would make it easy to fix printing problems years down the line if the heads go bad. I have not had a chance to print a ton with it yet but, the test page and calibration pages printed well without flaws. The scanner worked well in the calibration process.

What can I say? This thing is brilliant, I have printed 300 photos of my kitchen renovation from my phone!, on wifi!, how convenient is that?, no computer necessary and only used a 1/4 of the ink, and without a hitch, so in reality 1200+ 4x6 photos is possible , definitely superior technology as compared to the old cartridge systems. Wifi setup was a breeze with the hp app, I highly recommend this smart tank series of printer for any print job you may have, be it photos or documents or what have you.

I love this printer!
This printer is very easy to setup, and I love how easy it was to fill the tanks with ink bottles. The design is very cleaver, it was not messy at all and you can easily discard the bottles to the recycling bin. I also love how easy it was to connect the printer to my wifi, and also to my laptop and cellphone for remote printing. The print speed was quick with great quality prints. Overall I feel this printer exceeded my expectations and I will recommend this to my friends and family when they shop for a new printer.

I noticed the easy set up via the included manual ir app. I installing the ink was easy and no spills, then the printheads first you remove the protective plastics and you can hear a snap when placed correctly. Downloading the app was also an easy set up that allows you to print where ever you are an excellent feature. Adding the printer to my laptop as my default printer was also easy, Just clicked on add printer it recognized the printer via Bluetooth and printed a test page. All happy and set up with no worries about ink for Two years. Let me add the speed of printing is fast ,thus all in one feature printing photos,copying,printer scan, shortcuts , my favorite is the camera scan use my phone to scan and edit turn print amazing, there is also a mobile fax too I yet to use. I’m all set just need ink in 2 years thank you HP.

Fast and Efficient
I love my new HP Smart Tank 6000. It was easy to set up and connect to my wifi. The ink bottles are large and will last much longer than a normal ink cartridge. It's nice that they're recyclable too. I like that I can see through the window how full each ink is and it shows how full they are on the app. When I printed for the first time, it was fast and easy. My old printer took about 5 minutes to print and I had to carry my laptop to the printer to connect it, but this one just prints instantly while I sit at my computer. The print quality is very vivid and nice. I wanted to turn on economy ink printing but couldn't find it anywhere in the settings. I'm excited that it has automatic double sided printing so I don't have to flip the pages manually like with my old printer. I love how the app has all the information you need about the printer and you don't have to hold onto any paper manuals. It also makes it convenient to buy new ink directly through the app. Overall, I like the look of this printer and I'm so excited to finally have a wireless printer that saves me time.

High Quality Prints, Low Effort Setup
In total, it probably took me 20-30 minutes to completely set up my HP Smart Tank 6001. The "ink tank" technology/feature is newer to me, but appears to be a good system for keeping ink 'fresh' while not having to rely on cartridges so much. The instructions are very clear and the bluetooth/wifi connection was easy to navigate/establish. Be sure to place this on a sturdy surface, as it, like most printers, can create some internal force while moving the printheads.
This printer also prints quickly and the image quality is perfect for the needs of a typical household. From printing potential return labels, school project materials, and work documents, to scanning things for homework assignments, this printer is perfect. One very minor thing that I noticed, compared to older HP models, is this doesn't seem to have any sound notifications when the print you've sent is completed. However, the image quality is great and even from a scanned source, you will be happy with the results.
Lastly, I am excited for the all-in-one tank-to-printhead feature. As this was new to me, you essentially fill up larger "ink tanks" and those directly feed to the printheads, which normally you see as "ink cartridges". I wasn't sure if that would be a messy process, but it wasn't at all. The instructions provided were very clear, with color-highlighted imagery, and made the process incredibly smooth. I also enjoy how you're able to see the remaining capacity of any of the ink tanks, directly from the front of the printer.
Please be sure to read the directions on how to MOVE the printer. This could easily be overlooked, and appears to need special handling, compared to what others might have needed to do with older printers.

Adding ink to printer
Prints great, but had a little trouble setting up, but tech service online quickly fixed that. Directions lacked the important step that in adding ink, you must push down until you hear a click. Found that on the bottle after looking for better instructions online…

Exceeded expectations
Exceeded expectations once able to set up customized scanning. Prints are sharp. Ink bottles are well designed, easy to use and almost spill proof -- you would have to work at it to spill the ink. Minor difficulty setting up with "old school" USB cable to desktop computer -- directions were well hidden in the HP Smart application.

Love at first print
This printer is amazing! The easy fill no spill ink is one feature that I love! From a family that loves game night, we print lots of character sheets and rpg campaigns and rules. I love that at I can print from my phone. The setup was easily and Wi-Fi setup was a breeze. I’m looking forward to printing more game articles and photos of our fur kids!

Worth it
Let me start off by saying my previous printer was a $40 all in one that lasted me 5 years before selling it to someone else. I use my printers for making cards on cardstock, on sticker paper for my small business, photos for photography, and regular sheets for documents. Much like cartridge based printers, I was going through a lot of cartridges despite getting the XL size. It was time to upgrade and this campaign came in clutch. What drew me was the ink capacity and how long it claims to last. That in itself makes it comparable to my cheap printer on ink cost alone and more than justifies the price of this printer. Set up was a bit of a hassle, but overall it wasn't that bad. I did receive a factory defective product and HP worked with me to get a replacement out. The print speed is faster than most and the color range is spot on. It doesn't come out wet either which is great. The machine itself is a little bulky, but I was able to put it on a sturdy end table without and issues. Overall I'm excited to make the switch and not having to buy ink as often will be a huge bonus. The squeeze bottles are user intuitively but can get a little messy if you don't utilize the entire bottle in one go. This printer will be a worthwhile investment for my personal and professional lifestyle.

Fabulous printer!
I absolutely love it this printer. The HP Smart Tank 6001 was easy to set up and didn't take long to do so. Prints fast and is so quiet compared to my previous ancient printer. The print quality is great, the colors are vibrant and the ink was easy to fill and mess free. I like that there are "windows" that allow me to easily monitor the ink levels. I absolutely love the wireless printing function, it makes printing from my phone or laptop a breeze! Totally recommend!

So easy to set up and use
I am extremely happy that I bought this printer. It was super easy to set up and use. I’ve had other printer through the years that are difficult to set up and print especially using Bluetooth. That’s not the case with this printer. The step by step instructions by the app is amazing. The print and scan quality are top notch. The speed and the quality of printing make this an even better purchase. I used to have issues with my old printer printing via Bluetooth but now you can’t tell the difference between my iPad, my phone or my laptop documents. Overall, my favorite features are how quick you can turn on and scan or print and the quality of the print.

I recently purchased the HP Smart Tank 6001 printer, and I must say it exceeded my expectations in terms of performance and functionality. One of the outstanding features of the HP Smart Tank 6001 is its efficient ink HP offers it allows high volume documents without worrying about running out of ink. The printer is easy to set up the included instructions were clear and concise, and the printer connected seamlessly to my devises via Wi-Fi. The user-friendly interface, coupled with intuitive control panel made printing tasks hassle free.
Now I can print on any of the connected devices from my mobile, tab or laptop. The print quality is impressive. The documents come out sharp and clear. No Regrets. Great Printer!
I was pleasantly surprised on opening the box of my HP Smart Tank 6001 to find that the protective plastic bag had actual handles to assist removing the printer from the box. I was able to slide the printer right out without help. Such a simple, yet innovative thing.
Setup was simple and the instructions were easy to follow. Filling the tanks with the supplied bottles of ink was a breeze. They snap on so you don't have to worry about spilling ink everywhere. You do have to install print heads, which I assume will have to be replaced at some point, but still has to be more economical than constantly replacing cartridges. I had no issues downloading and installing the software, but one thing I don't like is that you have to register for an HP account to use the printer. Not a deal-breaker, but I think it's unnecessary.
The scanner works great and scans were very detailed. The printer is fast and quiet. The print looks crisp and nothing smeared or blurred. I'm very happy with the print quality. I have printed several things so far and the ink in the tanks hasn't visibly dropped at all, so it doesn't look like it's going to waste a lot of ink. To check the quality of print I copied a couple of stickers and it does a great job. In the photo the original stickers are on the left and the printed copy is on the right.
I do like that it prints double-sided, as well as copies in color or black and white with the touch of a button. The controls are simple and intuitive.
Overall I am very happy with the HP Smart Tank 6001. It's sturdy and well-built and has very nice copy and print quality. I love its many useful features and so far it has been a great printer/scanner/copier that I would definitely buy again.

Amazing I’m never going back to regular again
Wow!!! I am so blown away by this printer. I’ve had HP printers most of my adult life. I had no idea that this is a new ink tank. Printer had come out but it works so much better than the old print cartridge used to. I have printed so many things already and you can’t chill. I’ve used any of the art it’s amazing and everything comes out clear it, the prince to the edge of the page like it supposed to. It’s super easy to set up. I love love love love the fact that it does double sided printing without you having to touch the paper. All you do is tell it it needs to do double sided printing it printed then it sucks it back in, and it prints the other side with no problems and no issues. It was amazing I have never had a printer that did that. This seems like a printer that should cost three or $400 I don’t know how much it’s actually gonna cost when it comes out but it would be worth the three or $400 for it , I don’t know how much it’s gonna cost to replace the ink but if it lasts like it’s supposed to it’s probably going to be amazing. I would definitely encourage others to buy this one because it’s so much better than any other brands I’ve tried there was absolutely nothing confusing about putting it together. Everything was very nicely printed out with pictures and everything so you absolutely couldn’t mistake what you were doing , it was super easy to fill up the pink containers. That was cool mean everything was just super easy. I hope this printer will last for many years to come.

Awesome Printer!
They thought of everything when they made the Smart Tank 6000 series! From a homeschooling family I can say we love this printer and look forward to the savings! The ink is so much more affordable which means we don’t have to skip projects. Easy no mess install to boot! Prints are clear and pretty quick. Set up was a breeze!
The scanning feature is awesome! Super easy to use, no confusion at all.
Easily connects to wifi for wireless printing. I print from my phone regularly. I have been disconnected a time or two but it reconnects in no time.
I love the stylish design too!
All in All I am very happy with this printer. I recommend it to anyone who gives their printer a workout!

Awesome Printer
Unboxing and physical setup were very easy. Make sure to read setup instructions as there are hidden packing cardboard to remove. Filling ink and installing printer heads were very easy. If you are worried about ink spilling, I did not have any issues. I did have issues with the paper tray grabbing multiple papers at once, so make sure the edges and corners of the paper are not folded together.
I use a mac so software setup was a bit tricky but the software from hp.com for mac users helped with my issues. I did have issues where the firmware did not update once I was connected to the internet but I turned off and unplugged my printer and then it was able to update.
The quality of the printing has been satisfactory. I work in a position from home that requires me to print letters and brochures and the images are outstanding. The print speed is fast and the pages come out smoothly. The all-in-one function of this device is amazing for a home office. I use the printing function most often but like the ease of scanning and copying. This is an excellent machine and my husband and I highly recommend it!
Overall, it has been very user friendly to print, scan, and copy. Highly recommend.

Absolute Upgrade
The last printer inkjet printer I owned had a ridiculous amount of issues - the printer kept blanking out and resetting or just not working at all. I gave up on inkjet and went to a laser printer, but...that was a TERRIBLE move. I have kids who often need to print things that include color for school projects and exams. So - back to inkjet we went.
There were a few specific things I was looking for in a printer:
1. No separate little tanks that cost a fortune to replace and can only be found in certain places.
2. Volume level - the last printer was fairly loud by the standards of "I work from home and make phone calls all day". I need something that is reasonably quiet and not going to disrupt my calls.
3. EASY TO HOOK UP. Last printer needed a masters in...something...to get it to hook up to the wifi and to KEEP it hooked up. I'm reasonably familiar with computers, but man it gets old having to re-enter information all the time.
With these three main requirements in mind? This printer excels. I absolutely LOVE the bottle filling over the little cartridges. It was a little strange at first, but SO EASY. I've already looked, and the ink isn't hard to find, nor is it expensive. The printing itself is definitely quieter than the last printer, though there is one loud noise/jolt when it first starts. But definitely not a deal breaker. And it was quite honestly one of the easiest electronics to hook up to the internet I've had yet. And it STAYS hooked up, which is a bonus for us at this point. It does give off the smallest chime every so often, but it's so quiet - almost like a little fairy chime. I don't know why? But I don't mind it at all.
The printing is not lightning fast, but we don't need that. The colors are good for the sorts of documents we would be printing. I haven't tried any actual pictures, because that's just not something we typically do.
Overall, I am very pleased with this new printer and DEFINITELY consider it an upgrade from not only the last laser printer, but the inkjet we had before. Based on the price online for the printer, absolutely worth the price.

Incredible Printer
We received our HP Smart Tank 6001 and were up and running in less than an hour. The setup was a breeze. The physical setup included installing the print heads and then filling the ink reservoirs. I installed the HP Smart app on a laptop and had the printer connected to our home network in minutes. HP Smart provided a link that I sent to my wife and the children. We were all connected to the printer immediately.
My son was running for Homecoming King at his high school. My daughter designed some flyers for his campaign. The colors and quality of the flyers were amazing!
Our other daughter started a Hispanic Heritage Society at her high school. She designed some flyers and business cards for the society. The results were a success for the society and they were able to sign up 25 students as a result.
My wife was ecstatic about the speed of printing and the ease of scanning. She is definitely the power user for the printer and has easily printed 60+ documents so far.
With all the use the printer received in the first few days of operation, we were surprised of how little ink has been used.

Exceptional Home Printer
I've always been skeptical of home printers. The ink usually doesn't last that long, and the replacement cartridges cost more than the printer. This printer has changed that perception!
Setup was quick and painless using the HP app. I had the printer up and running in no time and wanted to print a variety of things to test it out. Office documents print quickly and cleanly. The blackletters were crisp, with no bleeding or smudging. Color documents printed well, and I was impressed with how fast it printed. I then decided to print a few photos on photo paper. Amazing! The colors were true to my display and the prints looked like they came from a print shop.
Refilling the cartridges was a breeze. I've seen the refill kits for other printers and was always nervous about spilling ink on the carpet or the tile. Not the case here! The refill process is quick and not messy at all.
Overall, I'm very happy with the printer and it's functionality. Job well done!

THE BEST!!
SO, IT TOOK ME TIME TO GET PRINTER IN PLACE, AS I HAVE SOOOO MUCH TO DO STILL!! BUT, I LOVE IT!! THE CONVENIENCE OF REFILLING THE INK IS GENIUS!! NO MORE ORDERING WASTEFUL CARTRIDGES AND WAITING FOR THEM! I HAVE OWNED EPSON AND LEXMARK PRINTERS IN THE PAST, BUT HP HAS ALWAYS BEEN MY FAVORITE AND THE VERY BEST I BELIEVE!

Love it!
After having bad experiences with printers, this printer was really easy to set up, and kind of fun. You just squeeze the ink bottles into each section, and you’re done! It was easy to set up with my WiFi, and my favorite feature is that I can print straight from my phone. It prints anything I need within seconds. Almost Perfect
This printer has almost every feature that I could want. No longer have to worry about replacing the ink cartridges in middle of a project. I do a lot of printing in spurts, and it is great to know that the printer is always ready for me. Mobile printing is great, and works well from my Android phone.
The print quality is great, and everything I have printed was perfect. The ink lasts a long time (still at 100% for all colors!!). Also double sided printing is a great feature and is much more environmentally friendly. The printer even waits after printing the first side while the sheet dries, before pulling it back in to print on the other side.
The reason that I am calling it almost perfect, as that it really needs a document feeder for the scanner. The flat bed does a great job, but you are limited to one sheet at a time.

Does this printer do well printing photos? I am an amateur photographer and I like to print my own pictures to sell and to share.

Can you make printer only use black ink?
