Worked for a few weeks, now not at all
Printer was working last week, I come back from vacation and it's not connected. My brother,in IT has been trying for hours to get it connected again!!!

Smart Printer
It is easy to use. It connects to your phone easily. However, the setup process is a challenge. Make sure you have a stable internet connection. Other than that, I would recommend this product.

Solid small MFD
Purchased the printer because I wanted to get away from the expensive laser toner and ink jet cartridge game. Set up was easy, to include filling the ink tanks. Print quality is excellent and air printing from my iPhone is a breeze.
We have been using the printer for a couple of months now and the only complaint we have is about the 2-sided printing. I probably didn’t read the specs correctly, but I assumed it automatically prints 2-sided documents like the Brother laser MFD it replaced. It doesn’t. You have to basically print one side and then manually turn the page over to print the other side.
I would recommend this printer for a home or small home office environment where you don’t print a lot of multi-page documents due to the lack of auto-duplexing.

I Hate my printer
I am so not satisfied with my printer. I can't do my office business effectively. The quality is poor and it was recommended by a sale representative. I wish I could trade it in.

Don’t waste your money on this printer
I am disappointed in this printer. The documentation does not clearly point out that the paper feed is not in the usual place in the bottom front of the printer, but in a hidden flap on the rear. After days of attempting to set up the printer, I accomplished the set up and a paper jam occurred. In attempting to clear the jam, the two cartridges (yes, in addition to the ink tanks, there are two cartridges) became disabled, making the printer inoperable. I attempted to buy new replacements at Staples. They didn’t know that they existed. The HP store on line didnt carry them. I ordered them from Amazon with a promised date of a month. I was so worn out from the problems, I returned the printer to HP and purchased a non tank printer from HP that was easily set up and running in less than an hour.

Print nicely
We got this a couple weeks ago and it prints nice. The only thing so far I do not like is the ink cartridge inside keep giving an error message check cartridge or replace, we are tired of that. The cartridge is me so not sure why yet. It’s not fast printing but so far good picture quality!

I am trying to refill the black ink and I put the bottle in the slot but nothing in happening. I tried to squeeze bottle but not working and I'm afraid it will splash. I love this printer and have had it for awhile and prints beautiful pictures.

This is the user guide https://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06352002.pdf starting on page 97, it does cover refilling the tanks in case there is something being missed. If that does not help, you will want to contact HP Support https://support.hp.com/us-en to see if they can trouble shoot the issue.

my printer error message is telling me “ink cartridge malfunction”? remove and replace ink cartridge if problem persists. replace with new cartridge. i don’t know how to buy the replacement cartridge I can’t find them anywhere. Can anybody help??

Do you have a similar with auto 2 side? I will not even think of buying this without auto 2 side. I will stick with my EPSON eet 4550.

Can I use the HP 651 printer with the black ink only. In other words, I don’t want to fill up the color ink because I’m just doing black and white for now.
Thanks for shopping at HP! No, all colors must be present for the printer to operate. You can set your printer to print in Greyscale in the Printer Properties on your PC to save on using color ink, however.
Open the application you want to print from
Select the File tab and click Print
In the dialog box, find and select the properties for printing in color, grayscale, or black and white
The options available depend on the type of printer you have
Click OK to save
You can also set your printer for color or black and white printing by going into your computer's settings:
Open Windows Settings
Click the name of the printer you want to set up
Click Manage
Look for the Color Settings or Select Color option
Choose options such as Color, Grayscale, or Monochrome
Click OK to save
When you print in grayscale, your printer uses color ink or toner cartridges in combination with black to produce different shades of gray. This can help produce better shading and contrast in black-and-white images and graphics. However, some color ink is still used, even if you select Black/Grayscale or Grayscale.
