This device never really worked out for me.
This device was the worst purchase ever. It kept dropping my network, and connected devices, to the point that I would have to unplug my monitor and plug it back in to recognize it again, and the wired network speeds were way slower that wifi on the same computer. I eventually replace this unit with a non-HP brand similar multi-port device.

Great, unless you use an ethernet connection?
I am direct wired in with my internet, so i thought this adapter would be a great way to use the hp laptop i just bought woth my home internet - but now im always dropping off zoom calls, "network quality low", and having the prompts to restart my adapter. Pretty bummed, did i just receive a fauly one?? Because seems kinda expensice for what i got. If this is not a common issue id like to get a replacement....

You can use a Universal USB Docking Station. You want to be sure the docking station has the video ports, i.e., HDMI, on the monitors.

Is this docking station compatible with the HP 250G Serial #CND2150N2D? I have three external monitors that I would like displayed with a closed laptop. I have the Dell WD19S which looks very similar; however, it does not seem to be compatible.

Is this device compatible with the HP 250 G8 Notebook PC? I was told by HP that only the HP USB-C/A Universal Dock G2 would work. I ordered it in Feb. Just received an email saying my order was cancelled due to "due to unforeseen supply constraints"

Being that the HP USB-C/A Universal Dock G2 was recommended perhaps that notebook didn't have the correct USB-C port. If there is a symbol of a lightning bolt (Thunderbolt 3) next to the USB-C port, then you can use this port to charge and transfer a video signal. This port supports Display Port alt-mode.

Thank you for your question! In order to use this hub for external displays, the host PC must have a USB-C port with DisplayPort ability. The HP 15-dy1036nr does not have that ability. This would still be able to give the PC extra USB ports but the display ports and the power pass-through would not be compatible.

Why does the HP site and product details state the hub "connects and powers pc" when it DOESN"T power the pc? It connects monitors to pc but hub does nothing to power the pc. I still have to use the power adapter that came with pc/laptop.

You can plug in your USB-C charger for your laptop or purchase a USB-C AC charger separately. This will only support PCs with USB-C ports with PowerDelivery.

Also, the HP Thunderbolt Dock 120W G4 is a good option as well. Typically a Dock features more port options and has its own power supply, so an additional USB-C charger is not needed as the charge is needed with the HP Universal USB-C Hub.

As a tip, if your laptop has a Thunderbolt Port and uses a 90W or less AC adapter to charge, then the HP Thunderbolt Dock 120W G4 is the Dock for your HP PC. If you use more than a 90W AC adapter and have a Thunderbolt Port, then the 280W Thunderbolt Dock is needed. If you have a USB-C port with DisplayPort and PowerDelivery then the USB-C G5 Essential Dock is recommended. If that didn't help then resubmit the question with the product ID from your laptop.
