The HP USB-C G5 Essential Dock provides a compact and attractive system with all the necessary interfaces for connecting a laptop to a desktop workspace including power, network, keyboard/mouse, displays, audio/video devices. It is suitable for an office or home installation.

Dock Review based on Bundled Purchase
I purchased a bundle set, 2 monitors with the docking station. The monitors use HDMI’s but the docking station only has 1 HDMI. My complaint is why would you bundle products together that require additional parts / purchases. I have to buy a VGA to use on one monitor due to the dock’s limitations. Yes, I should have read specs and known, however I believed the purpose of a bundled package was to remove that level of thinking for me. I’d also believe 2 HDMIs would be a given.

What expected but not 100% compatbiel
Hub is what I expected. I've downloaded all firmware and drivers but still can't get video or power to laptop features to work (keyboard and mouse work. Ethernet seems to work) Suspect I'll need to contact HP support to see if laptop is fully compatible (sales rep said it was)

One Dock to Rule Them All
This is my second purchase of this dock, one for home and another for the office. Makes life easier with only 1 connecting type-c cable to hook up my keyboard, mouse, 2 monitors, web cam and wireless phone charger. The dock's power button allows me to keep my laptop closed when powering on the device, I no longer have to open, turn-on, close the laptop when I move around. More than enough ports for all my needs.

Compact and functional
I bought this small docking station for home office to connect my HP monitors to my work-issued Dell workstation. The monitors connected just fine with my HDMI-to-DP cables. My wireless mouse and keyboard connected without issue as well. Here’s where I would knock off a star (had it not been for user error): USB-C power to the workstation was insufficient. I should’ve checked the wattage of the Dell prior to purchase (needs 90W). The silver lining, however, is this will be perfect for my personal HP laptop which only needs 45W. I’m so excited to have a small docking station that does it all in lieu of those really long and heavy ones.

My new HP docking station - HP USB-C SG5 Essential Dock
This docking station is great. Clears up my desktop wilthout all the cords running to my laptop.
Additiionally multiple display screens can run off of this docking station.
