It works perfectly.
G5 dock came on time. It works perfectly with another Thunderbolt device and all the peripherals (e.g., mouse, keyboard, etc.) The HDMI connection works great because the prior brand docking was not rendering the accurate color saturation. Overall, we are super happy with the purchase.

My HP USB-C Dock G5 is the Best!
This little beauty does everything I want it to in a compact package. I can pull in my beloved MS Natural keyboard, my ancient Deskjet 932c printer, my external hard drive and my external monitor, and everything works well together to give me a real personal computer experience. As my needs change I can add other external devices like a DVD drive.

HP USB-C G5 Dock
I really like everything about this dock. The design, build quality and ports. I just wish it had and on/off switch so I didn't have to unplug the USB C cable from my laptop every day after work. It's just unnecessary wear and tear on my laptops USB C port.

Not compatible with HP Pavilion
I intentionally called HP directly to purchase a docking station that would be compatible with my specific laptop, an HP Pavilion. The customer rep sold me this one for $150 insisting that this would work. It is NOT compatible and therefore does not work. Now they're trying to send me a replacement and will not give me a refund.

Is this docking station compatible with the HP Z2 Mini G9 Workstation Desktop PC? I'm attempting to use it to connect it to my HP Z32 monitor. I'd like to not have to disconnect the monitor to connect it directly to the PC when not using my work laptop.
No, the HP USB-C Dock G5 will not be compatible with an HP Z2 Mini G8 Workstation PC. The HP Z32 features four different ports for display just change the input to one of the other ports and you can have both devices connected at the same time. These are the ports for the HP Z32:
(1) DisplayPort (DP) 1.2
(1) Mini DisplayPort (DP) 1.2
(1) HDMI 2.0
NOTE: HDCP 1.4 is supported for DisplayPort (DP). HDCP 2.2 is supported for HDMI.
(2) USB Type-C (1 upstream rear port and 1 downstream side port)
NOTE: USB Type-C upstream port can function as a DisplayPort audio/video input, as a USB 3.0 upstream connection, or it can be used to deliver up to 65 W of power to a device.
(3) USB-Type-A downstream ports (fast charging)

Will this docking station support the use of three monitors at the same time? With past HP docking stations I am unable to get both display ports and HDMI port to work all at the same time. I have to use VGA, Display and HDMI.

In addition to the macbook air M1, I have 2 external monitors. The display extends to one external monitor, and the other external monitor is the duplicate of the first one. How how do I make use of both the external monitors?
The number of external displays that a MacBook M1 can support depends on the chip model:

Press and hold Option to make the Detect Displays button appear
Click Detect Displays
Unplug and replug the display
Check that the cable is securely connected to the correct port
