It works perfectly.
G5 dock came on time. It works perfectly with another Thunderbolt device and all the peripherals (e.g., mouse, keyboard, etc.) The HDMI connection works great because the prior brand docking was not rendering the accurate color saturation. Overall, we are super happy with the purchase.

My HP USB-C Dock G5 is the Best!
This little beauty does everything I want it to in a compact package. I can pull in my beloved MS Natural keyboard, my ancient Deskjet 932c printer, my external hard drive and my external monitor, and everything works well together to give me a real personal computer experience. As my needs change I can add other external devices like a DVD drive.

I really like everything about this dock. The design, build quality and ports. I just wish it had and on/off switch so I didn't have to unplug the USB C cable from my laptop every day after work. It's just unnecessary wear and tear on my laptops USB C port.

Not compatible with HP Pavilion
I intentionally called HP directly to purchase a docking station that would be compatible with my specific laptop, an HP Pavilion. The customer rep sold me this one for $150 insisting that this would work. It is NOT compatible and therefore does not work. Now they're trying to send me a replacement and will not give me a refund.

I cannot get max resolution of 2560 x 1440 on both of my 32" monitors. 1 is plugged into the HDMI port and the other is plugged into the Display Port. Is this an issue with the G5 Dock? Thanks

Thank you for your question! The HP 255G8 laptop does not feature the proper port to be compatible with HP Docks or Hubs. A Thunderbolt Port or USB-C Port with Power Delivery and DisplayPort capabilities is required for compatibility. The Dock will power on and off compatible laptops and comes with everything you need to charge the laptop.

Hi,I was issued one of these docks with a HP Elitebook laptop. However I am having issues connecting external displays via it. Computer will not detect external monitors which display "no signal detected" message when connected via dock. Any thoughts?

why can I not connect my HP docking station to an HP monitor through USB C port? Laptop does not recognize HP external monitor. When connected via HDMI I can use as another screen.
The USB-C port on this HP USB-C Dock G5 cannot be used for display purposes. The port is for data and power out, this port does not have DisplayPort capabilities.

any time I connect the docking station HP USB-C Dock G5 to my laptop the I lose Audio,and shows that the Audio is coming from the docking station but is not making any sound,is a way I can turn that set up off, and just let the Laptop keep using the audio

The ProBook 440 G8 464N2AV is not compatible because it does not have the necessary port. At a minimum, a USB-C port with PowerDelivery and Display Port is required or a Thunderbolt port is needed. This ProBook does not have those ports.

Hi, would it be possible to get over 60hz on dual 2k display setup. 1st monitor - 2560x1440 to be run at 60 Hz, second will be Omen 27i running 2560x1440 at 165 hz, for example.
