    Rated 5 out of 5 by Marine57s from Compatible with Pavilion 16 and charges laptop I left a review on a HP Thunderbolt 120W Dock G4 saying is was compatible with my Pavilion 16 which was wrong. I returned that for the USB-C Dock G5 which is actually the dock I ended up buying because it is truly compatible with the Pavilion 16. Charges the laptop, has all the ports I need to keep a clean desktop and connect to the Samsung TV I use for a monitor. It may be more expensive than other docking stations but they wouldn't do everything I needed. The only thing I that's comparable is the similar IBM ThinkPad dock which is around the same price.

    Rated 2 out of 5 by JonaW from It's fine but glitchy. These don't seem to be very stable. I have them in my office and my third monitor has never worked properly with it. I've had others that just fail to connect to a laptop until we've rebooted the laptop 3+ times. The 1 year warranty is pretty limiting when you have issues like this.

I replaced a desktop PC that I built in 2010 because it would not support Windows 11. I went with a laptop to have with me when I travel and wanted to continue using my dual displays and wired network connection and sound system in my home office. This was very easy to install, update and configure and has all the features I needed.

    Is there ever the ability/need to update the firmware/BIOS/similar (?) for the an HP Hub? I don't know if such a thing exists, but I would do it if so.

To update the firmware on an HP USB-C Dock G5, you can download the latest firmware update from the HP support website, then connect the dock to your computer, disconnect it from power, and initiate the update process through the HP Firmware Installer, which will stage the update to be installed when the dock is next disconnected from the host computer; essentially, the update happens while the dock is not actively connected to your laptop. https://support.hp.com/us-en

    Thank you for your question! The 17-cp0013dx will not be compatible with HP Docks. The 17-cp0013dx has a USB Type-C® 5Gbps signaling rate (supports data transfer only and does not support charging or external monitors. The laptop can support one external via HDMI.

    Thank you for your question! Without having the model number of the HP laptop in question, it is impossible to determine which Dock is the correct one. However, if there is a symbol of a lightning bolt (Thunderbolt 3) next to the USB-C port, then you can use this port to charge and transfer a video signal. This port supports DisplayPort alt mode
