Its a Time Machine
I was not sure what to expect from a gaming computer for processing Astrophotos and my initial testing has shown that this Omen with the 4070 GPU and the Intel 13900k can power through the toughest work loads it has saved me hours of time processing really large file loads...what used to take an hour with my Zbook now takes minutes...I love it...Oh and it is uber fast with gaming as well no lag and the graphics look amazing

a bit disappointed
The hardware seems to be fine but the version of windows that was installed on this was a mess. We had to actually remove duplicate files that were causing Microsoft Store to not download and other apps to crash. We shouldn't have to clean this stuff up when I just spent over $3000 on it. Disappointing to say the least. I may have to buy a custom PC next time to avoid all of this.

Disappointed somewhat
Computer stopped working after two weeks after receipt of product. The computer kept turning both on and off on its own. Other than that, was very satisfied with the product until the problem started to occur. Customer Service was great and very helpful in resolving the issue.

Returned computer.
The unit had to be returned as it was far beyond what I needed or wanted. Unfortunately the sales representative didn't fully understand my needs as I explained them to him. I then phoned HP a few days after receiving the first computer and spoke with a different sales rep who totally understood my needs and helped me order a different one.

Perplexing.
It's hard to say what to rate this computer. I can't tell if it is the computer or the software. If I watch YouTube the volume revs up from 0 and I miss the first couple of words. And even with typing this review, when I type in a box the first couple of letter I type doesn't show up and I have to go back and put them in. I don't know if it is Windows 11 or if it is the computer. I haven't got into a heavy graphics project yet to see if it can take it. I did do a large PhotoShop file and it seemed to take too long to save.

HP Omen Solidly Built
The computer ordered was shipped on time, and was very well packaged with a maximum of protection and a minimum of waste. The HP Omen itself has outstanding thermal and mechanical design. I have never had a PC case as solid and high quality as this.

Runs soooooo cool
While I'm rating 5 stars, most of what I say will be the negatives (because everything else is that good).
The DRAM is very under-clocked and even if you get the exact same brand and model, HP won't support it in their managing software. You can use non-HP-sourced memory, but they treat you different.
The sound, while generally low, is noticeable when the machine is placed right next to you (at the same level). Some is fan sound and some is water pumps. Not really bad, and it runs cool enough that this is not a true complaint.
The graphics card is so huge that finding a 10G network card that fit in the one remaining slot was difficult. This card fit: Marvell AQtion AQC113C Controller, NICGIGA 10Gb Ethernet Adapter.
This card did not fit: TRENDnet 10 Gigabit PCIe Network Adapter (chip on back stuck out 2 mm)
I just used the other card in my old machine so now they all cruise at 10Gbit.

HP Omen 45 Intel 13900k, Nvidia 4080, 32 ram, 2TB nvme, 1200w ps, winPro11. Unit came well packaged. Shipping notification where from HP and FedEx. HP did fine. FedEx initially indicated was going to delivery early but then stalled for a week and delivered on last day. Unit had cpu fan error on start up. Called HP support (middle east) and they directed me to return. What a hassle that would be. Diagnosed to a fan cable came off or was never plugged in. Leaning towards fan never plugged in since plug was not near connector, which means unit was not tested. The PC is OK, received what I expected in quality of components especially MB. Would be tough to build for price I paid, especially for the vid card and shipping to Alaska. Still bench testing. GPU seems fine. CPU may be throttled. Full size case much easier to work on and upgrade than my previous Cosair Pro i160. Ovearll happy so far.

Time to seek out better company.
This is the third computer that I have bought from h p.
The first one came with a book and describe everything that you needed about. How to put your computer with its Components. And was a fair price. $$$.
The second computer came with a poster showing you how to put it together.
The price once again was o k a fair price. $$$$.
The third computer came with nothing. And the price was high. These computer were top on the line at the time of purchase.
If there's a next time, I'll be looking somewhere else .

Could use better documentation and XMP
HP neglected to set the XMP profile or provide instructions to make the memory run at the rated speed. Fortunately I found out how to get into the bios and pick a XMP profile via a Google search that found a forum with this topic. I also feel that the system should have come with 32GB of memory (not 16) based on the price and the need for more memory when using Windows 11.
The system itself runs great and is very fast and appears to be well built. USB disk transfer are still very slow (sometimes under 20 M/Sec) which I believe is the fault of Microsoft rather than HP but you never know. The drivers just may not be that great at this point.
I also wish that the USB ports were better labeled to understand best use case for each port. I found that using all of the rear ports resulted in my USB drives disappearing so I moved two of the 5 to the ports on the top and that behavior stopped. Also, at this point not 100% sure how to get the system overclocked to the point of hitting the advertised throughput but I did kick it up a couple of points and it appeared to help.

Beauty and a Beast
This is an excellent & stunning beast of a computer. It processes at the speed of light, running multiple programs at once, with ease, all without a sound. It’s many fans keep it cool but are also silent. Not to mention it’s gorgeous see through panel, and color changing halos.

Overall, pretty good. Lightning fast, nice looks. As is typical with any computer purchase these days, it's loaded with bloatware and tracking but those can be removed with patience. Build was accurate to my specifications and shipping was timely. Color changing LEDs can be annoying. They can be changed or turned off, but finding the controls to do so is not easy. Still, that's pretty minor stuff and I'm happy with it so far.

I was looking into getting new ram sticks Corsair vengeance pro SL (2x16gb) DDR4 would they be compatible with everything if I take out the Hyper X ones?
Yes! Any DDR4 memory will work inside a DDR4 Motherboard, most like you will have to turn on XMP (eXtreme Memory Profile) in the BiOS to get the full performance out of it, you can refer to google to find out how to do that!

Can I install Linux on this (dual boot Ubuntu or MX Linux and Windows Pro)?
Yes as long as you have a correctly formatted USB drive that has enough storage to hold the Linux programs you can go into BiOS and tell it to boot from the flash drive, refer to google to find out how to that, but it is quite easy to do.

If you want a total of 32 GB RAM, you can add two 8 GB DDR5-5200 RAM sticks in the last 2 RAM slots. The other option is to put a 16 GB DDR5-5200 RAM in the first slot and put the 8 GB DDR5-5200 RAM in the third slot.
