NO RAM!
I just learned that if I upgrade the RAM in my laptop myself, I will void the warranty. And I am not happy with that. I feel that I spent all this money, and I cannot do a simple upgrade.

As others have stated you are directed to the page to buy extended support. You buy it, you get confirmation, you then get told in some 6 weeks or so they will associate to the product you just bought it for. So your warranty says it not applied and then you get constant reminders to buy another extended warranty. Shame on HP for creating such a poor design and sad they are trying to make customer monitor them to ensure their warranty gets applied to their laptop that they recommended. Very sad this the best they can do. Wonder what happens to those poor souls who forget to harass HP to apply the warranty in 6 to never weeks. Ugh ... Prob should have bought dell.

Laptop Review
There is no key backlight which makes it very difficult to use in low light. Also, several keys are faded. Finally, the left side surface is very sensitive. Adjustments do not seem to help. I'd be glad to return it for a better unit and receive credit for this one.

No extended warranty email received
Rec’d items shipped email from HP, indicating the 3year support warranty I’d purchased along with a laptop would be sent via email. 1.5 weeks later, have the laptop but have not rec’d any email re the extended warranty.

Cost effective.
As I rely on my computer for work, I wanted to make sure I had it protected as I cannot afford a new one. This was a cheaper option for me to have it covered in case something happens instead of getting a new one. I am not near a computer store, so I but them online.

It is starting to make a cracking noise when I open it last laptop started the same way and I ended up having to replace components that broke on the screen when you open it hope it doesn't have the same problem

Can not get sound loud to were I can hear it very well. Most problems are with windows and Microsoft. Tried cloud transfer and that didn't happen plus lost some on old HP, will take weeks to resolve. Not having fun.

Set Up
so far, no complaints except for the set up process. I tried to follow the directions and could not get anywhere. I have a friend who builds computers. I gave it to him and it took him 3 days and at least 3 calls to HP tech advisers to finally get it set up. This is not ideal for most people who are not really and truly tech savey.

Could do better.
Power button is next to DELETE key, too easy to turn of system by mistake.
USB-C port is not full function, cannot connect additional momitor by USB-C (I know there is an HDMI port).
So far I do not like Windows 11, but that is not HP's fault.
Ports should be duplicated in rear of machine so I can use the laptop PC on my desk without the cords coming out the side and taking up a lot of desk space.
No way (that I can find) to add more SSD drive capacity.

Great computer
I had a computer failure and needed a new one quickly. I purchased this HP computer and put it right to work. It has the added 10-key and a fingerprint ID button and it is quick to load. I love it!

Operation of new computer.
I went from an old tower with Windows 7 to a new laptop with Windows 11. Do to being 73 years old and computer illiterate, I am unable to use my Email or connect to my HP printer.
Put it on a shelf in the closet. Wrote it off to a $1000.00 bad experience.
