Ink doesn't last long
I purchased two packs of the HP 63 2-pack Black/Tri-color Original Ink Cartridges and I have already gone through both packs just printing 2 copies of 36 page worksheets. I am not sure if there is a better alternative but the ink is expensive and does not last long.

HP Printer Ink 63 Black/Color Combo
I like the ink of course as goes with my printer but I’ve noticed thru the years that after I print out about 30 pgs or so, I have to reorder ink and wondering why that is(?) I’ve read other reviews where people have said the same. The ink does not nearly print to over 100 pgs as it’s supposed to. After so many pgs, you try and print again and I see my levels are down and the copy comes out very light so I have to buy another package of ink. Otherwise the ink is fine. I have no issue with it.

Hp 63 ink combo
Nothing bad to say about the product itself. The price however is horrible. When I first bought my printer the ink was 10 $ cheaper for the combo every year it has gone up but the product has not changed. You have to buy a new one to get cheaper ink and it does not work with off brands

Is this Pigment Based Ink? I have a 3637 HP DESKJET and I want to make photo transfers. I read Pigment Based Ink held up better
Thank you for your interest in the HP 63 2-pack Black/Tri-color Original Ink Cartridges. The black is a pigment-based ink while the color is dye based. Pigment tends to dry faster but be less bright making it a better fit for documents. The dye-based inks tend to take a little longer to dry but give you a much brighter image and that is a better fit for photos. Multiple factors have a part in how well the ink and the image will hold up overtime. The HP photo paper will also play a part as it is designed to lock the ink in and help give a more vibrant longer lasting image. It is complicated though since it will also depend on the type of photo paper you want to use and how you want to store it.
