    Rated 5 out of 5 by CaptRob from Extremely fast scanner with much improved software WOW! This is an amazingly fast, small footprint document scanner with an improved on-device screen interface and a much-improved premium version of the HP Scan software. I wondered if the premium price over other models was worth it, but the answer is YES, DEFINITELY! I have owned 4 previous models of this type of HP scanner, and none can compare to this one. It can work over a Wi-Fi network with other computers and still scans just as fast, but image processing takes longer over the Wi-Fi connection. When scanning across a direct USB connection, even the image processing is nearly instantaneous. Magic!! Love this scanner and the improved software that comes with it. As usual, HP support is excellent. Great job, HP.

    If I have different length documents in the document feeder including short and extra long forms, will the scanner automatically detect the longer or shorter length and adjust? Ideally I need to place a stack of 30 8.5x11 sheets and two 19" x 8.5" sheets.

    Can this machine "scan to email" to a programmed group? Can it send the "scan to email" to a group that has multiple emails tied to the group. Instead of sending the "scan to email" to every single email separetly.

    Does this scanner do OCR all by itself, or would you need a computer with OCR software installed? The specs say "built-in OCR", but the manual talks about OCR in the context of Windows software - which implies the OCR is not built in in the scanner.

    Optical character recognition (OCR) software works with your scanner to convert printed characters into digital text, allowing you to search for or edit your document in a word processing program. Built-in software means OCR software is built into the software that comes with the scanner.
