Rated 4 out of 5 by MB in Michigan from Nice Laptop, but annoying cooling fan startup The Power G11 is a quality laptop, it performs well and has a large bright screen (16:10 ratio). Speakers are decent too. The only gripe I have about this laptop is the cooling fan startup noise. When under a processing load the fans on any laptop will turn on, this is normal - however on the G11 the fans come on with a burst of noise which can be very annoying especially in a quiet environment. And when the processing load is moderate the fans will turn on and off, and the bursts of fan noise can be hard to ignore. Not sure what HP changed, I am coming from a G9 and that unit's fans start up gradually (sometimes you don't even notice them starting up). There have been a few bios updates for the G11 but none have changed the fan startup burst of noise. If you are working in a fairly noisy environment then you may not notice the fan startup noise, but in a quiet room it is very noticeable and annoying. If HP could change the fan startup profile this laptop would be about perfect. It is easy to upgrade (I was able to install more ram), and there are numerous videos online showing how to service just about any part on the G11.

When I tried to return my "new" G11 three days after receiving it, I learned it had been previously registered six months earlier. It took two months to get HP to acknowledge it, but then it was too late to return it. Three months later, it's still buggy and freezes up unexpectedly. I gave it to one of the kids and he gave it back to me after three days. Strange, but my 5-year old G3 works fantastic, but the G3 won't upgrade to Windows 11. I gave it a 5 stars only because it wouldn't save its deserving two-star rating. Hmmm. Thumbs down!

Rated 5 out of 5 by dabel from Fast and trouble free. The loading of all of our applications, including some processing intensive 3D CAD applications, went smoothly and without issue. The responsiveness of these CAD applications was exceptionally good. Much faster than we would have expected from a laptop. Overall, we have been very pleased with these laptops.

Can this laptop charge by USB-C? If so, what are the requirements?

Thank you for your question! HP recommends charging the HP ZBook Power 16 G11 Mobile Workstation PC with the included 150-watt Smart PFC Slim AC Adapter. However, charging is possible via the Thunderbolt ports.

This HP ZBook Power 16-inch G11 Mobile Workstation PC will feature an Intel® Wi-Fi 6E AX211 (2x2) and Bluetooth® 5.3 wireless card with NFC that can be used to connect to your mobile phone for internet access via hotspot.

Hello. Thanks for your question. You can use a Bluetooth mouse with this HP ZBook Power 16 inch G11 Mobile Workstation. A Bluetooth mouse does not require a USB dongle.

What charger is correct for this laptop. I currently have a 90W smart power adapter and my laptop gives me a notification that the power output is too low for this computer.

Hello. Thanks for your question. This HP ZBook Power 16 inch G11 Mobile Workstation requires a 150 Watt external AC power adapter, part number L32661-001. The part number for the power cable is L22319-001. Be sure to get both parts, if needed.
