Horrid customer service
HP generally has good products, but their customer service is soooo poor I cannot recommend purchasing. If you do, make sure it isn't from their HP store. Go to Amazon, Best Buy, anywhere else.

The laptop itself is great however I needed some help getting it setup and support was no help at all unless I paid them. I bought this laptop as a gift for my husband and we needed some help in setting it up. I was not told when I purchased this laptop that I would have to pay for support if I needed any support help. Had I known that I would never have purchased the laptop. When we did contact support we were quoted a price over $500.00 to help us get it set up with the printer that I also purchased. In the end we were able to get a friend to help us and found out the things the support representative told us what we needed to setup was not actually needed at all. Had it not been for him we would have been stuck a brand new laptop that we couldn't even use.

Great laptop for the money. Does get hot.
Great laptop for personal use. Moderate web browsing and multitasking at ease!
Quiet and beautiful laptop.
Cons:
Laptop gets hot, the CPU fan pulls air directly in from outside the case and ejects directly. Airflow thru the case is draft only, no mechanical fan for this. Since its such a thin laptop more thought should have put into a having a LAPTOP which you use on your LAP (note I use a laptop tray with no cushion so the vents are open), but it does get hot.
Little disappointed HP isn't upfront that a Web order laptop ships from China in a standard laptop box! Might have bought mine in the store as I prefer it to be handled with care on shipping.

Very good laptop
Very good laptop. I am so pleased with the performance. I'm supposed to have a back lit keyboard. When I first turned on the laptop, the keyboard was lit. Since then, nothing. I have tried to get help, but to no avail. I tried the support, but wait time was way too long for me to wait. Also, I would like to have my task bar on the side of the screen, and there is just no way I can get it changed.

Working well for me

I was at a dead end with an old HP laptop I use just for writing and had to get a new one. I loved my old HP and wanted another HP.
I got this laptop and am thrilled. The screen is amazingly clear. The keyboard is a dream. The keys are a little bigger. The pressure is perfect. It's super light. Best of all, it's ridiculously fast. Fantastic computer. I love it! Very, very pleased.

Slow, clunky monster
This is not a good computer. It's slow and huge and cheap/clunky feeling. The don't on the keys is huge. The way the creek displays is huge. You're not actually seeing more of the spreadsheet you opened, it's just gigantic. If you need large text books, this computer would be a good option. If you were getting a larger screen to widen your field of vision, look elsewhere.

Is the SSD Gen 4 or Gen 3? If the SSD were to be replaced, does the PC just accept a SSDs of the same generation?
Thank you for your question! This HP Laptop 15t-fd100 has Gen4 slots. This will be compatible with other generation SSDs. If using a newer Gen than Gen 4, the SSD will function at Gen 4 speeds. If using an older Gen SSD then the SSD will operate at the older Gen speed.
